Boston Scientific is expanding its Maple Grove campus by 107,000 square feet. The two-story addition would be tacked on to the company’s Building 2, which is used for office staff and manufacturing. The expansion will allow for increased production, a new 9,300-square-foot cafeteria and 41,000 square feet of office space.
The Massachusetts-based company has a three-building campus in Maple Grove that employs 4,000 people, the addition to this campus allows the medical-device manufacturer to hire an additional 40 employees. The campus has grown since groundbreaking in the early 1980s. It includes an administrative building and research-and-development facility.
Wells Concrete is currently erecting more than 30,000 sq. ft. of precast for this addition, including a very unique architectural columns with three sides of brick, roll cast L shaped parapet with two sides of thin brick, and 12’-0” wide 6.3.6 panels with a 2’-0” return leg, two sides of thin brick, weighing in at nearly 80,000 pounds. Along with insulated walls that boast a combination acid etch, sandblast as well as cast in thin brick exterior facade.
