Dan Juntunen was named President/CEO for Wells Concrete in January, 2011. In this position, he is responsible for all phases of the organization, which include six production facilities and multiple in-house field crews along with Operations, Sales & Marketing, Corporate Services and Product Development, all focusing on a strong market presence from Canada to New Mexico and Wisconsin to Colorado.
Prior to being named President / CEO, Dan had served as the Chief Financial Officer since 2007. In that capacity, he was responsible for the company’s corporate services, financial management, human resources, and information technology.
Dan began his career in commercial banking, initially as a credit analyst and then as a workout officer with a portfolio consisting largely of troubled real estate and construction debt. Following his banking experience, Dan moved to the private sector and served in various financial capacities for private equity based mid-market companies. Immediately prior to his role with Wells, Dan moved out of the private equity environment and became a divisional Vice President of Finance for a $7B company that has manufacturing operations around the world
In addition to his role at Wells Concrete, Dan has served in multiple leadership capacities with the Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) and served as the Chairman of the Board in 2017.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of North Dakota and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mark Del Vecchio
Vice President – Human Resources, Health, and Safety
Mark joined Wells Concrete in November, 2015. He develops, implements, and maintains Wells Concrete’s HR and Safety programs and processes to ensure employee utilization and employee safety. Prior to joining Wells Concrete, Mark worked in Safety and HR leadership roles in large industrial, construction, and construction materials companies. His background in this vein includes proactive approaches to employee wellness and safety.
Mark has a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. He is a member of the Minnesota Bar.
Sam has been with the Wells Companies since 2008 and in his position since 2011. Prior to his current role Sam was in sales, estimating, project management and business development. In addition to being part of the leadership team Sam oversees Wells Concrete Canada, the international arm of the Wells Companies, and the Research & Development program helping bring new products, finishes, and offerings to Wells’ customers. Sam is also involved in M&A and starting new business lines for The Wells Companies, the parent company of Wells Concrete.
Prior to his employment at Wells, Sam served in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator on Active Duty from 1999-2008 and a Selected Reservists from 2009-2013. Sam still currently serves in the US Navy in the IRR and is nearing completion of 20 year of service. He will retire from the US Navy Reserve in August 2019.
Sam attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1997 and also received his MBA from the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida in 2008.
Sam is also a 3rd generation member of the ownership family, has served on the Board of Directors since 2009, and was named Chairman in 2017. Sam has been married to Annette Nesius for 22 years and together they have 2 daughters: Michaela, 14 and Davin 12.
Ryan holds a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from the University of South Dakota and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining Wells Concrete Ryan worked in the public accounting arena with Larson Allen, LLP (now Clifton Larson Allen, LLP). He was Wells Concrete’s auditor during his time with Larson Allen, LLP.
Ryan joined Wells Concrete in March 2011 as Financial Analyst where he was responsible for internal and external financial reporting, departmental profitability analysis, and overseeing the Minnesota accounting function. He was named Direct of Finance in September, 2012. In this position, Ryan successfully consolidated and centralized the accounting and finance personnel from Wells, MN and Grand Forks, ND to Albany, MN. In this transition the department was reduced from fifteen employees to seven, with an eighth person added in September 2013.
Ryan Stroschein was named Chief Financial Officer for Wells Concrete in September 2013. In this position, Ryan has focused much of his effort on centralizing the accounting and finance functions of the company. He most recently migrated the two separate companies to one legal entity. Ryan has also focused on labor efficiency and lean initiatives in the production environment.
Dave has been with Wells Concrete for 30 years and is currently in the role of Executive Vice President of New Product Development. He served as President of the Western division for 14 years, and was responsible for overall company strategy, direction and team environment. Over his tenure at Wells he has worked in sales/preconstruction, estimating, project management, and production, as well as multiple field environments. Dave has worked in and has managed different portions of each of these departments and has a full understanding of their needs and capabilities.
Dave earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Regis University. He is also a Certified Field Auditor and has a Quality Control Personnel Certification from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) – Levels, I
Ed has been a Registered Architect since 2001. In his 23 year architectural career, he has worked on projects of different sizes, construction types and complexities. As a project architect and manager, he has been involved in all phases of the design process from pre-design thru construction administration. Ed’s role at Wells Concrete continues to be that of an Architect – using his unique skill set to help find design and production solutions for owners, architects and contractors. He helps bring new products and technologies to the marketplace, providing owner’s and design teams even more architectural options to consider in their projects.
Ed graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and received his Masters of Architecture from Syracuse University.
Tim is an engineer working on new product development. He began his career with Wells Concrete in 2002 as a field engineer in Wells, MN location; in 2007, he became a project engineer. In 2014, he transitioned to his current research and development director role in Fargo, ND. Tim has been involved with field construction, project design, BIM development, and process & design improvement in his time at Wells.
Tim is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer and a member of PCI Joint and Connection Details committee.
Dan Stenzel recently rejoined Wells Concrete’s preconstruction group in April of 2019. In this position, Dan is responsible for client relationships and precast design development. Dan’s vast understanding of construction materials and methods gives him the skill set needed to sit should-to-shoulder with Project Teams, to take napkin sketches to full contract documents. His ability to understand the Owner, Design Team, and Contractor’s needs while offering the most effective precast solutions makes him a valuable asset to any project team.
Prior to rejoining Wells Concrete, Dan worked as a Project Manager for a large general contractor/construction management firm for five years. His wide perspective from experience as both a general contractor and subcontractor allows him to have a better understanding of the client’s needs and expectations for a high performing trade partner. While working in the general contracting sector, Dan gained knowledge in a number of different construction software programs and certificates from LEED, Best Value Approach, OSHA 30, and SWPPP.
Dan originally began his career at Wells Concrete in 2007 where he started out in the drafting and engineering department, and quickly made his way into the preconstruction group. His technical experience, commitment to client relationships, attention to detail, precast efficiencies, project budgeting, and scheduling gives him a valuable understanding of how to best support our clients.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management along with a Minor in Business Administration from Minnesota State University-Mankato and an AAS degree in Architectural Drafting from South Central College.
Greg Roth was named Chief Operating Officer for Wells Concrete Eastern Division in February 2019. In this capacity, he works with all Eastern Division operating departments including Project Management, Drafting & Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, Field Services and Sealants.
Greg has been with the company for eight years and has had several roles, most recently as Vice President of Operations responsible for company-wide production and yarding operations. During his time, he has lead our implementation of Concrete Vision, developed many of the metrics we use to drive continuous improvement and has been instrumental in building teamwork between quality and operations to drive performance.
Greg holds a Master of Science degree in Executive Leadership from Saint Cloud State University and an Undergraduate degree from University of Minnesota Morris.
A 30-year veteran of Wells Concrete, Spencer has overseen development of the company’s core product offerings – carving a niche in the marketplace for architectural and structural precast and prestressed concrete products. His relationships in the industry run deep as he is committed to finding ways to better serve clients and the marketplace. He builds upon a sales foundation of technical expertise and estimating capabilities that supports the company’s abilities as an integrated solutions provider.
Ben is a graduate of North Dakota State University and can leverage more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry in an estimating and project management capacity to connect with clients on precast/prestressed solutions. His leadership attributes and natural ability to seek common ground while understanding a client’s needs and expectations, combined with his technical expertise, make him a valuable asset to any project.
Ryan has worked for Wells Concrete for a total of 23 years. He rejoined the Wells Concrete team in 2007, where he led the project management effort before returning to his engineering roots with a promotion to Chief Engineer in 2010. With over 30 years in engineering, 23 specifically in precast concrete, Ryan brings a wealth of experience in various aspects of precast delivery. He works closely with the Wells Concrete estimating and production teams, as well as engineering and field services partners to ensure projects are delivered to the expectations outlined. Ryan started with Wells concrete in May 1990. He has spent time in numerous positions in the company, including Field Services Engineer, Design Engineer, and Senior Project Manager. Ryan is currently the Chief Engineer and oversees the drafting and engineering departments at all of our sites. In addition, he spent seven years in the consulting engineering field, which exposed him to a wide variety of building materials and systems. His vast work experiences make him uniquely qualified to evaluate the various projects we encounter and propose the solution best fitting our customers’ needs. Ryan graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Jesse has 17 years’ experience with Wells Concrete; he started in field services and has led a variety of erection efforts, including some of the most complex projects Wells Concrete has completed. He is currently managing 15 erection crews and three patching crews across the Midwest. At our peak, we have over 120 people working in three different unions in the field department. His knowledge of Wells Concrete’s product and installation are paramount to the team.
Jesse graduated from Minnesota State University in Mankato with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction management. He is a NCCO Certified Crane Operator, Certified Crane Inspector, and PCI Certified Field Auditor.
A 20-year veteran at Wells Concrete, Steve is the Vice President of Quality Control. He started his career in the Ready Mix industry and has transferred into the Precast/Prestress side of the business for the last three years. Steve and his team are constantly striving to perfect existing mix designs and develop new finishes.
He is a certified Concrete Technologist, ACI field certified inspector, and PCI III plant certified. His years of mix design and field experience is great asset to Wells Concrete.
Mike leverages more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry as a general contractor allowing him to connect with clients on sealant, waterproofing and restoration solutions. He is dedicated to improving building envelope solutions to advance building efficiencies and performance, which allows clients to maximize investments in their building. Mike’s ability to find win-win solutions in challenging markets, combined with his technical expertise, make him a valuable asset to any project. Mike is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Gary is the Regional Sales Manager for Wells Concrete at our Maple Grove location. With over 25 years of experience in the precast concrete industry, Gary has been involved in the contract development process on thousands of projects. He is currently active as a board member at the national level of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) where he represents precast providers in the Midwest region. This, combined with being a past board member of the Precast Concrete Institute Midwest, part of the Construction Advisory Group for Dunwoody Institute, and a past board member of the MN Builders Exchange, gives Gary a unique and valuable perspective in our industry.
Mike started his career 18 years ago with Wells Concrete, in 2000, in field services and has developed his role into pre-construction/estimating and is the manager of the North Dakota sales group. Wells Concrete’s mission statement may summarize Mike’s philosophy best: “The solution provider of choice” for his clients. Mike’s ability to provide comprehensive precast/prestressed solutions that work for a client’s building needs allows for tremendous attention to detail and a commitment to client relationships.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from North Dakota State University.
Mat has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, in which the past 11 have been with Wells Concrete. He thrives in challenging environments and enjoys working with clients from the project development phase through the field installation phase. Mat’s accomplishments, including a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Minnesota State University – Mankato, have laid the groundwork for his attention to detail and ability to come up with creative ideas in the precast concrete industry.
Curt has over 20 years of experience in the industry, which started in 1994 when he worked as a laborer at Midwest Precast in Ankeny, IA. After graduating from Iowa State University in 2000 he became a sales representative for Coreslab Structures in Omaha, NE from 2004 to 2013. He was the Director of the AIA Iowa Allied Organization from 2012 to 2014 and has been the Director of Business Development for Wells Concrete’s Iowa office since 2013. Curt is also currently the vice chair of the PCI – QA marketing committee. Curt’s extensive history in the industry, coupled with his passion for what he does, makes him a unique and valuable asset to the Wells Concrete team.
Bob has over 25 years of experience in the precast concrete industry. He started his career in 1989 as a precast detailer and throughout the years, has worked in estimating, sales, and marketing. From early conceptual design to final installation, Bob uses his experience to assist architects, engineers, and contractors in developing projects that exceed the customer’s expectations on design and value. His experience in the various departments at Wells Concrete gives him a valuable perspective on how to best help our customers.
As a dedicated account manager for a precast products company, Rick afforded the opportunity to leverage his strengths in understanding a client’s building needs. He strives for constant learning about precast products, their application, and how to better support project delivery. Rick works with key accounts in the design and construction space to develop precast building projects that further enhance architectural intent while a maintaining manageable budget.

Rick began his career in drafting then moved to estimating and project management and is now a valuable member of the sales team. He enjoys overseeing a project from concept through to completion, particularly as he has been involved each step along the way. In his 25-year tenure he has witnessed the evolution of work procurement, where every project started as a bid and a proven track record provided a shift in how returning clients procure projects.
In almost three decades in precast, Jeff has seen the industry soar through strides in product evolution and manufacturing capabilities. His personal strengths have afforded him the ability to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with design teams, brainstorm with engineering firms, and work on-site with construction crews. He has a passion for serving clients and their building needs through unique design and construction methods while providing cost-effective solutions.
Amy has been in the precast concrete industry since 1999. After graduating from Dunwoody College of Technology, she started her precast career estimating projects then moved into sales in 2003 where she has worked with both local clients and national account clients across the country. Amy previously worked in Chicago as the Executive Director of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Industry (PCI), IL & WI region.
Art has been extensively involved in the construction industry for more than 30 years, and for the last 17 years, in the precast/prestressed industry, applying his engineering, heavy construction and precast experience to various markets in Canada and the United States.
He has successfully collaborated with architects, engineers, contractors and owners, providing precast solutions for multiple projects including parking structures, building envelopes and total precast buildings. Working with his industry partners he has facilitated all aspects of projects, from preliminary design, all the way through to project completion.

Scott began his career with Wells Concrete in 2000 starting in a drafting role developing an in-depth understanding of the efficiencies the company offers on the front-end of product design and layout. Scott’s attention to detail, deadline driven approach and responsiveness complements his ‘get it done’ attitude.
With over 19 years’ experience in the precast industry, Scott has been a part of the product evolution that Wells Concrete has been leading from structural precast components to the new and cutting edge architectural capabilities that now can be achieved with architectural precast. His variety of roles from drafting to estimating, project management to sales/business development has provided him with a wide perspective of what precast can achieve efficiently and effectively. Scott enjoys the variety of opportunities that are available to provide solutions to owners and architects to make projects run smooth and efficient.

Block 9- Fargo ND
This 18 story precast cladding project located in downtown Fargo was a combined effort of three years of working with the owners and design team on budgets, layout, and value engineering suggestions. The site logistics, schedule, and coordination of other trades has been a challenging aspect of the project and something Wells Concrete is proud of
NDSU Residence Life Hall
A six-story steel structure with cladding architectural precast was new to the NDSU campus. Once the precast capabilities were made known and the speed of construction was demonstrated it was confirmed to be the right building material choice and was a successful project for all the parties involved.

Working with Mortenson Construction through the design phase and collaborating in the modeling program Wells Concrete completed this school on time and within budget.
Rick Ostgard brings 30 years experience in precast to Wells Concrete, including 5 in his current role. Rick values his client relationships and remains committed to ensuring success in the project every step of the way.
Jace has been with Wells Concrete since June of 2010 in a variety of positions. He spent two summers in our ready mix plant and over two summers as an intern in the sales and estimating department before moving into a full time position as an Account Manager in January 2014. He enjoys working with architects, contractors, and engineers on building design, finding precast solutions to design challenges and providing efficient, economical precast layouts. Using his 4 year Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from MSU-Mankato, Jace excels at maintaining and enhancing the intended architectural design of any given project.
Andrew has been with Wells Concrete since 2013, when he started out as a temporary laborer while finishing his bachelor’s degree in Economics at Minnesota State University, Mankato. In 2015, Andrew began working full-time in the Operations Department with Wells Concrete as a Production Supervisor. Andrew’s passion, paired with his knowledge about the precast industry, lead him to a position in Preconstruction Services as a Salesman/Estimator in 2019. Andrew’s motivation and success stems from customer satisfaction. His background in the industry allows him to aid in the process of developing and pricing structures, both simple and unique, all while keeping his projects on schedule and within budget.
Zac started off in the drafting department of our Grand Forks location in August of 2012 and spent six months there. In January of 2013 he was transferred to the Fargo office as an estimator and has since slowly worked his way into a full time sales and estimator role, while simultaneously serving as project manager on jobs when our PM department was overbooked. He has been in the construction industry since the age of 17; he started off building houses and apartments, pouring concrete foundations for grain bins, installing fire sprinkler systems, and, before coming to Wells Concrete, working for a large concrete repair company as a field supervisor. With his long history in construction and a degree in Construction Management, he has excelled through many varied situations that have popped up throughout his years in the industry.
Mike has been with Wells Concrete for 31 years and has held various positions within the company during those years. In 1993, he moved to Guam to help establish a new plant and was the General Manager. In 2003, Mike moved to Hawaii to help with operations until 2005. Both of those plants are now in operation under separate companies, and Mike moved back to the mainland in 2005 to begin a new role in the Sales/Preconstruction Department. He moved into the Director of Business Development role in 2014 and became the Chief Operating Officer in 2017.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering from The University of Wyoming. He also has a Quality Control Personnel Certification from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) – Levels, I, II and III.
Dan started his career in precast with Rocky Mountain Prestress in 1990. He has held many various positions within the company, but has spent most of his time in Preconstruction Services and Sales. He helped establish a plant in Hawaii in 1997 and worked there for 4 years. He spent two years as a production supervisor before returning to Sales in 2003. Dan became a LEED ® AP in 2008 and was promoted to Director of Client Services in 2014. Dan is now in the same position for Wells Concrete’s Denver office. He is the past President of PCI Mountain States Region and a former member of the Board of Directors for PCI National. Dan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University and holds Quality Control Personnel Certifications from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) – Levels, I, II and III.
Doug has been with Wells Concrete for 29 years. He was a Plant Superintendent for nine years and has spent time in both Hawaii and Guam production facilities that are now in operation under separate companies. Doug has played a significant role in developing our current Field Safety Program, which has become a model for other precasters around the nation. Doug became Director of Operations in 2014, and he played a significant role in managing grout repairs in 2016. His leadership in Field Safety guided Wells Concrete in the development of our new grouting procedures, documentation and traceability. Doug transitioned into his new role in 2017/2018.
Doug has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Colorado State University. He is also a PCI Certified Field Auditor and earned a Quality Control Personnel Certification from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) – Levels, I, II and III.
Paul joined Wells Concrete in September of 2008. Prior to that, he was a Project Manager for Carter and Burgess for 9 years, Director of Operations for Walker Parking Consultant in Denver for 9 years, and a Project Engineer for Stanley Structures for 7 years.
In his current role, Paul is responsible for setting the direction for the Western division Engineering, Drafting, Production Control, Quality Control and IT departments. He is responsible for managing daily technical operational activities to support sales, plant and field operations.
Paul earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis) from the University of Colorado in Boulder Colorado. He also has a Masters of Business Administration, Regis University, Denver, Colorado.
Scott has worked for over 30 years in the architecture and construction industry at noted design firms across the country and overseas, with 16 years of senior level management experience. He is a member of the AIA, a registered Architect in the State of Colorado and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
His strengths include design and management of large, complex corporate, commercial, healthcare, social housing and educational projects both nationally and internationally. From project conception through construction, both large and small, Scott’s primary goal is to meet and exceed the client’s expectations. Above all, he believes in collaboration and creativity and is recognized for developing exceptional, long-term relationships with owners, consultants and contractors.
Lisa brings 27 years of construction experience with her. Starting her career as a Carpenter Apprentice, rising through the ranks working for a preeminent general contractor in Colorado. When she left the GC side of the business she was working as a Project Superintendent. Lisa was fortunate to have worked on many unique and challenging projects throughout her career including Coors Field, The Children’s Hospital, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. She made a career shift 2 ½ yrs. ago when she came to work for Rocky Mountain Prestress. Lisa believes her past construction experiences bring a valuable and unique perspective to her current position of project manager at Wells Concrete; she is looking forward to expanding her knowledge base within the precast industry.
Personally, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband Tony, who works as a Senior Project Superintendent for a National General Contractor. They enjoy exploring just about anything together; camping, golfing, road trips, visiting family, cycling and spending time with friends.
Brian is a Project Manager for Wells Concrete at our Denver Colorado location. With more than 25 years of experience in the precast concrete industry, Brian has enjoyed exposure to all facets of our industry. Attention to detail and overall construction knowledge provide excellent value to our clients. Developing successful strategies for project specific delivery is key to the overall project success Brian notes. Early engagement and continued support throughout the project also emphasize a team environment.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and an Associate Degree in Architectural Drafting.
Theresa has over 8 years of experience in the construction industry and began her career as an assistant project & safety manager for an environmental contractor that completed the remediation of the ASARCO Globeville superfund site, just off of Washington and 51st Street in Denver, (now known as Crossroads Commerce Park). Her experience is wide- spread with a focus on consulting, human resource management, contract administration, safety, and quality control within the Environmental, Demolition and General Contractor construction sectors.
Sean is a Project Manager for Wells Concrete at our Denver Colorado location. In his 17 year Engineering and Construction career, he worked on projects of varying sizes, construction types, sectors and complexities. Within these various project types, Sean has performed multiple tasks including Pre-Construction services, Estimating, Engineering, Field services and Project Management.
Sean’s accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado, North Dakota and several other States.
Alex has been with Wells Concrete since 2013, when she began her career in production control. In addition to maintaining the master production schedule, she learned the mechanics of custom mold building and plant logistics. From there, she moved into the drafting and engineering department where she further developed her technical and spatial reasoning skills before being promoted to project estimator. In this role, she expanded her responsibilities from preparing cost estimates to include preconstruction assistance. Alex draws upon her experience in previous roles, as well as her technical aptitude and architectural design education, to balance cost and design intent while guiding the project along a realistic path to constructability.
Alex is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.
