Jack Trice Stadium expanding to a capacity of 61,000, expected to be completed in August

2014-08-27 Trice 005We recently completed a ‪#‎precast‬ project for the Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, IA. Follow their webcam for daily progress.

This project had an extremely fast construction schedule, starting after their last home game and completion by their first home game, expanding to a capacity of 61,000, expected to be completed in August. We worked with Molin Concrete, HNTB, and Neumann Monson Architects to place 169 pieces of precast concrete.

The upper bowl fascia panels were unique with a combination of a broom and acid etch finish, which was required to match the existing fascia panels that are more than 40 years old. The segmented radius wall panels below the mezzanine are both an architectural feature as well as a structural retaining wall.
