Description:

The new Hansen Fine Arts center is a $10 million, two-story, 29,743 square foot, state-of-the-art fine arts facility. When completed in the fall of 2018, the facility will be used for university, school and local theatre group performances, as well as regional and national touring groups.

The project is a partnership between the Forest City Community School District, the city of Forest City and Waldorf University. The facility will feature an auditorium seating 600-650 people. A large stage, space for storage, set construction and a meeting area as well as capacity to expand in the future.

The Forest City Fine Arts Center is the result of the School District and Waldorf University’s goal to create a 21st century performing arts experience that enriches the lives of children and the community.

The new theater will be able to host weddings, special occasions, theatrical performances, art displays, regional and national touring groups, speaker engagements, and of the course the Waldorf University Artist Series. Expansion is also possible for the facility, but those would be long term goals if the need would arise.

Wells Concrete produced and erected nearly 5,000 sq. ft of precast concrete, including 10′ insulated wall panels, showcasing an acid etch and sandblast finish in addition to solid wall panels
