Aurora Municipal Building
Aurora’s City government was quickly outgrowing its outdated facility, and desperately needed to consolidate multiple satellite operations under one roof. Throughout the design process the Aurora City Council and City staff asked for a building that would reflect the rich traditions of the City and give architectural form to the dignity of their government.
This project was a design-build, five-story office building and attached garage for the City of Aurora council offices and municipal departments. Building features also included council chambers, a public broadcasting television studio, a full-service cafeteria and public meeting space, a data center, and outdoor public event space.
Budget, schedule and Wells Concrete’s total precast approach were key factors in the design team’s selection of structure type for this high profile project.
