Mountrail County Justice Center
The new Mountrail County Justice Center connects to an existing and historic 1914 Courthouse. The new facility provides the County with a Law Enforcement Center, a 40-bed jail, Courtroom facilities, secure holding areas for the Courts, offices for Clerk of Courts, State’s Attorney, 911 Dispatch and an Emergency Operations Center.
The expansion improves public access to the existing Courthouse and enhances overall building security while providing a modern, state-of-the-art Justice facility.
Construction began on July 14, 2015, exactly 100 years after the dedication of the historic Mountrail County Courthouse. Construction was completed at the end of 2016 and the facility opened to the public in January of 2017. Mountrail County District Court is in North Dakota’s North Central Judicial District.
Wells Concrete contributed more than 40,000 square feet of precast concrete for this project including nearly 100 prestressed members of architectural insulated wall panels, which boasted a striking sandblast and thin brick finish. Double tees, columns, beams, and structural wall panels also support the strength and durability of the Justice Center.
