Kiewit, a construction, engineering, and mining company, is constructing a new regional headquarters in the RidgeGate development of Lone Tree, CO on approximately 12.6 acres of land, offering easy access to public transportation and a convenient location adjacent to the highway. The project will be built in two phases and include 2 buildings and a parking garage. The campus will house approximately 1,150 employees. The campus will feature a pedestrian spine and will include a cafeteria and coffee shop near the light rail platform- both open to the public.
The Phase One building is expected to be finished by June 2021, said Chris Kelner, Kiewit’s national director of preconstruction. “The big thing about this project, it’s kind of a symbol of America and who we are. We’re builders. We’re engineers. That’s what we do here,” Kelner said. “There is no disputing that construction and engineering industries are in an evolutionary state, and Kiewit is on the forefront of those challenges. Today’s projects are larger and more complex, and Kiewit has established a world-class team to meet these challenges.”
The new headquarters will be home to about 900 of the company’s existing Colorado-based staff. Kiewit’s Colorado employees are spread out across the state now. The new headquarters will help consolidate the staff in one location.
Wells Concrete recently completed cladding on the K1 office portion of this project, K2 (2nd office building recently awarded to Wells for cladding similar to K1) expected start date for erection is Feb 2021, and is currently working on erecting the parking structure phase with more than 300,000 sq. ft. of precast. The four-level precast support structure includes double tees, columns, beams, light walls, and flat slabs. The façade showcases architectural wall panels with reveal patterns and acid etch finish.
