Built for community.

Arvada Aquatics Center is a state-of-the-art natatorium that replaced the former George J. Meyers Swimming Center. The facility now serves as a primary venue for competitive swimming, recreation, and community programming. The new center was constructed on the existing site’s parking lot, allowing the original facility to remain operational throughout most of the construction process. Community input played a vital role in shaping the final design, ensuring the space reflects local needs and priorities.

The structure features a 50-meter competition pool accompanied by elevated stadium seating built directly above the locker rooms, and a four-lane, 25-meter auxiliary pool with a walk-in ramp. Wells provided prefabricated walls for the structure, along with stadia, raker beams and columns to create the elevated seating.

Prefabricated materials were utilized for efficiency without compromising architectural integrity. The use of jointing that mimics architectural reveals provides a clean, modern appearance. The Arvada Aquatic Center stands as a thoughtfully designed, community-informed facility that blends form, function, and long-term durability.
