Transforming a Historic Venue
The University of Wyoming’s War Memorial Stadium is a celebrated venue that has welcomed generations of fans. The university completed multi-phase renovations to extend the life of the facility and elevate the game-day experience for fans, including improved seating, wider rows, enhanced concessions and restrooms, updated lighting, and upgrades to the press box. The first phase focused on replacing the aging stadia along the lower west bowl with more durable and efficient systems designed to support modern seating, concessions, and press functions.
Wells collaborated closely with the design team to resolve challenges of complex connections and heavy load transfers. Careful sequencing and staging of installation were critical due to the tight site conditions and to keep construction moving seamlessly. Wells partnered to deliver structural stadium solutions that ensured long-term durability and the capacity to support the immense demands of a full stadium, providing the strength and reliability needed for spectators.
The War Memorial has been renewed not only for today’s fans, but for generations to come. By blending structural durability with efficient delivery, Wells helped transform a historic venue into a modern facility ready to serve its students and greater community.
