Bria has over a decade of experience in engineering within the construction industry and has been with Wells since 2017. Director of Engineering - Mountain States

Chase has been with Wells for nearly a decade, providing leadership for drafting and engineering in the Mountain States region. In this role, he facilitates engineering coordination between manufacturing and field operations to ensure successful project design and development. For significant projects, Chase supports the preconstruction stage, outlining project goals and informing schedule development, creating clarity for project partners. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and is certified as an Associate Design-Build Professional (Assoc. DBIA).

Project Engineer

Colin has been with Wells since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2021. As a participant in Wells’ Engineering Development Program (EDP), he harnesses a unique blend of field and plant experience and an advanced understanding of Wells’ building solutions and company processes that he applies to his projects. Colin thrives on resolving challenges internally and externally and fostering collaborative relationships with contractors, architects, and other engineers.

Chief Engineer

With nearly 20 years of experience in structural engineering, Evan began his career specializing in precast structural designs. He has been with Wells since 2012, where he rose to his current role of chief engineer. His strengths lie in developing engineers and fostering cross-functional collaboration within Wells, aligning engineering practices with the company's workflow. For each of his projects he aims to enhance overall project efficiency by providing cost-effective engineering solutions. Evan holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and also holds a LEED AP accreditation.

Director of Design & Engineering - Midwest

George is the director of design and engineering for Wells Midwest region with over 30 years of experience in the precast industry. He mentors and leads Wells design engineering team, helping provide solutions to problems relating to design, schedule, manufacturing, and installation. George is licensed in 42 states and is an active member of ASCE, PCI and ACI. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structures from the University of Minnesota.

Outsource Manager

Jay Sohre has been in the construction industry since 2018 and joined Wells in 2020. His engineering journey started with internships in quality control and field services before transitioning into a design engineer role. Holding degrees in physics from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and civil engineering from the University of Minnesota, Jay emphasizes the human aspect in his work, fostering inclusive collaboration. With a talent for connecting with people, he excels in working alongside project teams, efficiently creating projects that stand out within the community. Jay is an Engineer in Training (EIT), actively pursuing PE licensure, and volunteers with Celebrate Me Week in his spare time.

Jeff has been in the construction industry for almost 30 years and an engineer at Wells for over two decades, where he has specialized in designing precast projects, including multi-family housing, residential, commercial and industrial structures. His expertise shines in podium-style projects, where varying building loads necessitate meticulous calculations for optimal precast structural support. Jeff is adept at problem-solving and finds it rewarding to help design partners overcome project design challenges, contributing to the success of the project. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Vice President of Engineering - Midwest

As VP of Engineering for the Midwest region, Jon oversees engineering and drafting services. With his background as a field engineer in construction services and production operations, Jon brings a valuable perspective to his role. Since joining Wells in 2008, he has led the design of numerous unique projects, leveraging inventive concepts and logic to find the most desired solution. In addition to his people leadership, Jon consults on engineering with preconstruction for significant projects.

Matt has been working at Wells for over ten years; starting with two summers of internship before joining the engineering team full-time. His first five years were spent as a field engineer, establishing an understanding of how projects come together. His understanding of on-site challenges helps him find optimal solutions for building functionality, to develop designs that result in seamless installation at the site, ultimately enhancing the client/partner experience. With over 25 years of experience in the precast industry, Mike has been an integral part of Wells since 2004, showcasing his versatility through involvement in quality control, drafting, and engineering. Mike is a licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota, and has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota. In his role as Facades Engineer, he takes a client-centric approach, supporting the needs of internal and external customers, adapting to evolving industry standards, and identifying areas for improvement and cost savings. He prides himself on applying integrity, safety, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail in every project.

Nate has nearly 30 years of knowledge and experience in the precast industry and holds an MBA from Marquette University. As the Vice President of Construction Services and Design & Engineering for the Great Lakes region, he is responsible for managing the project lifecycle. Leading engineering and field teams while implementing policies and procedures with an emphasis on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

As an engineer, Nathan ensures the structural integrity of prefabricated designs at every stage. A civil engineering graduate from University of Minnesota Duluth, Nathan brings a diverse understanding of Wells from his participation in Wells Engineering Development Program. He brings a transparent approach to interpreting plans, and working collaboratively with partners on a solution, to build an understanding of why we do things the way we do. His certifications include PCI QC Technician, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician, OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health, and he is currently an Engineer in Training (EIT) with the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID.

Paul is an Engineer in Training (EIT) and joined Wells in August 2022 with almost a decade of experience in the industry. Holder of an EIT License in Illinois, Paul is actively working towards obtaining his Professional Engineering (PE) license, further enhancing his commitment to engineering excellence.

Senior Vice President | Chief Engineer

As Chief Engineer, Ryan oversees Wells drafting and engineering for all geographic regions, shaping Wells’ engineering philosophy while also working closely with internal and external partners to ensure projects are delivered to expectations. His career began in 1990, and he brings a wide skillset from his roles as field services engineer, design engineer, and senior project manager, as well as seven years as a consulting engineer. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota.
