The City of Arvada, CO, is currently constructing a state-of-the-art natatorium to replace the existing George J. Meyers Swimming Center. The project, led by Saunders Construction and designed by OLC Architecture, features a 50-meter competition pool, elevated stadium seating above locker rooms, and a four-lane 25-meter auxiliary pool with a walk-in ramp. Wells provided prefabricated walls for the structure, along with stadia, raker beams and columns to create the elevated seating. Precast materials were utilized for efficiency without compromising architectural integrity. The community provided input as to what they’d like to see within the new facility, and the design incorporated their feedback. The current facility will remain operational during much of the construction process, and the facility is expected to open in late 2024.
