Redefining Housing

Residents in the Northwestern Chicago Suburb of Mt. Prospect, IL, have a state-of-the-art housing option thanks to the Myers Place apartment complex. Wells was a part of the design team for the four-story 31,500 sq ft facility, which was erected in less than four weeks.

The residential building was designed and constructed entirely of precast concrete components; using a total precast design saves time and money by reducing the number of subcontractors and associated scheduling issues expediting the erection of the structure and lessening the overall construction time.

The new building features an architectural finish, composed of three different colors of thin brick cast into the precast panels. The project also called for insulation at the plank bearing to provide continuous insulation throughout the building to meet energy requirements.
